Tuesday Dec. 10th: I am in Hempstead, TX, just NW of Houston. This is a smaller parish than the Woodlands. I preached at both Masses on the weekend. Last night there were about 100 there. About the same Tuesday night. Nice, intimate and the people listened so well! A large percentage went to confession. Tonight is the final service: Mass of the Holy Spirit at 7 pm. Finally Sunny today but still way cold. This will be my final service of the year. What a year it has been for me!
St. Katherine Drexel parish in Hempstead, TX. (NW Houston) Sat-Tuesday. All are welcome. Dec 7-10: St. Katherine Drexel Hempstead, TX. (Houston area) (979) 826-2275 www.stkatedrexel.org (Sun-Tues nights, no mornings) Plus I preach Sat. 5 pm and Sunday 8:30 am at the Masses. NOW!
I just preached a mission at St. Anthony of Padua in the Woodlands (North Houston) Texas. Dec. 1-4th. What a great celebration! I saw people that I met years ago. This was my third visit to St. Anthony's (2002, 2009). Also, I had been to the neighboring Sts. Simon and Jude parish three times. Many highlights: Sunday night 6 pm Life Teen Mass. I preached to 1500 people, many of them teenagers. Also, every morning at 9 am we had about 300 people for Mass and God touched us all with Faith, Thanksgiving and openness to the saving Power of Jesus' death and resurrection revealed in the Eucharist. At night about 400 people or more there Wed. night including some confirmation youth. We were all filled with the Holy Spirit. The people bought me out of house and home. I had to have someone go and get more books and CD's three times! All of the sales and offerings support my ministry and community. Be assured I will hold you all in my heart and keep you in prayer. Very cold and rainy in Houston today. Brrr.
Advent warns us to be ready. Our spiritual life is so valuable. Don't let anything whether it be our culture, consumerism, addictions or emotions, steal your relationship with God. Advent is also a new beginning. The future is pregnant with new possibilities. Things can turn around. Struggling marriages can get better. You can change. Addictions can be overcome. Dreams can be realized. Hold on, don't give up and keep believing! Advent is a new season a new month and new year. Expect new things!
Doctor Paul Crouch the founder of the Trinity broadcasting Network (Christian TV's TBN) died on Saturday. He was 79 years old. This man of God spread the Gospel through his TV networks all over the world. He allowed my programs to be broadcast on the Church Channel. He also airs Fr. Mike Manning and Bishop Fulton Sheen's programs. I am believing to start airing on TBN in the future. We give thanks for Dr. Crouch, his vision, his ecumenism and the millions who have been touched and saved because of his blessed life. May he enjoy heaven forever. Amen. I produced a two minute video about his life and generosity on Tuesday. I'm hoping it will air on TBN Sunday during the tribute program. Here it is: http://youtu.be/oI7KhPRjndU
