Fr. Cedric's Daily Blog
Welcome to all who have watched my TV program:
I hope you were inspired by "Live with Passion!" It wasn't "co-incidence" that you found the program, it was a "God-incidence." Check out my bookstore (100% secure site) LIVE TV: Watch at 7:30 am + 1pm (EST) each day: Click on "Live TV" on my left bar and go to "Watch now" on upper right.
Tuesday Sept. 7th: I'm back in rainy Houston after a very fruitful "writing" retreat in Lake Charles. I finished my final talk "Seasons of Life" corresponding to my new book, on Sunday. I wrote 7 talks in the 7 days! Grace was flowing. I fly to Portland, OR. on Thursday to be with my ministry partners and begin a mission on Saturday.
***26 years ago today, I was vested with the Passionist habit in Pittsburgh, PA and formally entered the novitiate. I was professed 25 years ago tomorrow. I have now lived in religious life a little more than 1/2 of my life! The words of Nathan Hale, patriot of the revolutionary war, and hung as a spy come to mind: "I regret that I only have one life to give for my country." (for my God!)
While on retreat I sensed that it was finally time that I explore radio. I'll be calling the various headquarters, so please pray for me! I need favor with the powers that be in these various places. One success so far: radio maria. www.radiomaria.us. I'll start airing my program "Live with Passion!" with them in a month or so! They are mostly in Louisiana.
Last Saturday I completed my prayer talk "Passion for God." It has two parts: 1) Listening and 2) Speaking. Prayer is, after all, commuication. In writing about prayer, I was struck by this quote from St. Augustine that I put in my very first journal back in 1977:
"Men go abroad to wonder at the heights of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motions of the stars, and they pass by themselves without wondering..."
My call talk is my opening homily for the "call to the mission." It is called "Live with Passion!" I talk about our secondary passions: golf, gardening, travel, shopping and our primary passion: God, self-improvement, and impacting others. Hopefully it will be a homily that will attract others to come back to the mission when I give it.
Tuesday I worked on and finished my Monday night (of the mission) sermon "Pressing on towards the goal." It is filled with stories and truths that will help people forget what lies behind and move forward in life. Catch a sample of this on my Pod Cast from a conference I gave in Lafayette, LA.
Wednesday I created a talk about the Holy Spirit as the "source" of passion. I tell the story of St. Augustine, debunk reincarnation and speak of the sacred romance and the Spirit of discipline and self control.
Thursday I completed a talk about the "Spirituality of surrender." Surrender is a truth I have proclaimed throughout my ministry. Now I have a full talk about it. This will be my reconciliation talk for Tuesday nights.
Sat: I have begun my final talk: Seasons of life, corresponding to the release of my new book with the same title. (Sept. 24th)
My newest TV program: Filmed Aug. 9th is now up and available for viewing. This program is being sent to all of my stations where I air. It is being broadcast now. Surrender.
I begin my Fall season in Newberg (Portland, OR.) Sept. 11th. Check out my Itinerary.

"Our era has been misnamed the 'atomic age'; it is rather the 'television age.' Television influences human brains a thousand times more than the fission and the fusion of atoms. Television is the newborn babe of the Fourth Dimension of Space-Time. Newton knocked the boundaries out of space; Einstein knocked the boundaries out of time, but television has annihilated space and time." Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen
As we remember Blessed Teresa of Calcutta on her 100th birthday (Aug. 26), and the 13th anniversary of her death on Sept. 5, let her words ring in our ears and in our communities this week. She understood well the table talk and etiquette of Luke and of Jesus.
"People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
"If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
"If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.
"If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.
"What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.
"If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
"The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.
"Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.
"In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway."
