Friday Dec. 19th: I am at my mother's house in Florida. Chilly and sunny. I am writing and working out. My book "Challenges Make Champions" is coming along great. I write for a few hours each morning. I will begin my drive back to Houston on Dec. 27th. Passion: I love this song! REACH (Notice the people on the top of my website...)

We now celebrate the "O" Antiphons. My friend Mary Beth Dierich has written about them: December 19, A Prayer Starter for Today: Today’s O Antiphon is, “O Root of Jesse.”
Jesse was the father of King David whom God promised his descendants would rule over Israel forever. That promise is ultimately fulfilled in Jesus who is born of Mary who is of David’s lineage. Jesus comes from the root of Jesse and gives the Royal Kingdom life and ushers in the Reign of God.
Let’s use the image of a root. A root is the part of a plant that grows unseen underground. It the plant in place and gives it nourishment. What are the roots that hold me up spiritually? Let’s go deeper. What is hidden, buried beneath the surface, which if watered a shoot might appear eventually and bear fruit? It could be a forgotten or abandoned talent or it could be our faith. It could be beautiful if allowed to grow. It could be how God wants to usher in the Reign of God through you and through me. May we discover our roots today. Let us pray…“O flower of Jesse’s stem, you have been raised up as a sign for all peoples; kings stand silent in your presence; the nations bow down in worship before you. Come, let nothing keep you from coming to our aid.”

I completed a mission at St. Justin Martyr's Wednesday night. (Dec. 3rd) Great enthusiastic congregation. We were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Many resources sold. I'll never forget these folks. That marked the end of my Fall season. What a blessing: N.J., N.Y. Detroit, Louisville, Houston and now Tampa. So much has happened! So many people and memories. My itinerary for 2015 is posted: Travels

Weather was perfect in Largo. See my beach picture from my walk on Tuesday. That is the Gulf of Mexico about 4 miles West of the church. My homily for the first Sunday of Advent: WAKE UP!

This is Indian Rock Beach near our parish.

Great news: I now air Live with Passion! in Chicago on WJYS and MCTV Television. Welcome Chicago viewers! Sundays at 10:30 am and Thurs. 9 pm.
